Machine Technician / Trainee

At Job&Talent, we are recruiting for a Shop Technician/Trainee to work with a leading manufacturing company in Livonia. This role involves operating production equipment, interpreting blueprints, and ensuring that all parts meet strict customer quality requirements. Comprehensive training on blueprints, tooling, and machinery is provided for the right candidate.

Shift Patterns

  • Day shift hours: Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM

Pay Rates

  • 23.00 - 24.00 USD hourly

Essential Requirements for Shop Technician/Trainee

  • Experience as a press or manual machine operator is required.
  • Ability to have strong mechanical background.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and maintain equipment effectively.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and customer specifications.
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the facility and lift up to 40 pounds.

Desirable Requirements for Shop Technician/Trainee

  • 1–2+ years of general manufacturing or machine shop experience.
  • Experience using calipers, micrometers, gage pins, and other inspection equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of SPC charts and shop math.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Role for Shop Technician/Trainee

  • Read and follow blueprints, work instructions, and customer specifications.
  • Operate production and ring coil machinery according to requirements.
  • Inspect finished parts using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Perform basic machine and tooling maintenance, including daily maintenance on the ring coil machine.
  • Identify, separate, and document parts that do not meet specifications.
