At Job&Talent, we are recruiting for a Manual Tool Room Lathe Operator to work with a leading manufacturer of precision engraving machines in Chesterfield. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who excels in a manual machining environment and is committed to high-quality production.

Shift Patterns

  • 6:00AM - 4:30PM Monday through Friday
  • Occasional overtime required on Saturdays

Pay Rates

  • 23.00 - 29.00 USD hourly

Essential Requirements for Manual Tool Room Lathe Operator

  • Proven experience operating a manual tool-room or engine lathe safely and accurately.
  • Must possess personal tools for mechanical assembly and machining tasks.
  • Proficiency in precision measurement using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Strong ability to interpret machining blueprints, tolerances, and specifications.
  • Reliable attendance and commitment to a consistent day shift schedule.

Desirable Requirements for Manual Tool Room Lathe Operator

  • Expertise in selecting, adjusting, and maintaining cutting tools.
  • Experience with basic machine maintenance for shop equipment.
  • Skilled in cutting internal and external threads.
  • Advanced measurement capabilities for tight tolerance parts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot machining challenges.

Role for Manual Tool Room Lathe Operator

  • Set up and operate manual engine lathes to produce short-run parts.
  • Machine precision round components ranging from 1/4 inch to 6 inches in diameter.
  • Work primarily with alloys and tool steels to meet strict quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace at all times.
