Switcher / Yard Jockey

At Job&Talent, we are recruiting for a Switcher / Yard Jockey to work with a leading logistics partner in Westmont. This role is essential for maintaining an organized yard, supporting loading and unloading operations, and ensuring trailers are positioned correctly and on time.

Shift Patterns

• 2nd shift, 6:30 PM until finish, 6 to 7 days per week.

Pay Rates

• 22.00 - 25.00 USD hourly

Essential Requirements for Switcher / Yard Jockey

• Ability to safely maneuver trailers in a tight space
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Experience with switcher or tractor-trailer operations
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Role Responsibilities for Switcher / Yard Jockey

• Move and position trailers throughout the yard and dock areas.
• Safely connect and disconnect trailers from yard trucks.
• Inspect equipment and trailers before use and report any issues.
• Follow yard traffic rules and all safety procedures.
• Communicate effectively with warehouse, shipping, and receiving teams.
